Rock-climbers
in the Prachov rocks

Rock-climbers have liked the Prachov rocks for more than a hundred years.

The first climbers were probably German ones from the Saxon and Bohemian Switzerland area. One of the towers is named after them -The Dresden Tower - Drážďanská věž. A group of students of Jičín grammar school founded a rock climbing club in 1907 called Climbing Club Prachov. It performed the first recorded climbs of Czech climbers on rock towers. To commemorate this, there is a Czech flag placed on the top of Praying Rocks (also called the Hand or the Monk) The climbing club is still active and its members are among the top of Czech alpinism. During the 100th anniversary of the first recorded ascend, climbers using historical tools and wearing historical costumes climbed the Praying Rocks in 2007.

PROVOZNÍ ŘÁD

Horolezci

Vstup horolezcům je povolen po zaplacení parkovného a vstupného. Vstupné a parkovné se neplatí v těchto případech:
horolezec se zúčastní jarní brigády a zaplatí roční poplatek 300 Kč, bude mu vydán průkaz s fotografií po jehož předložení mu bude umožněn vstup do skal
horolezec zaplatí roční poplatek 500 Kč, bude mu vydán průkaz s fotografií po jehož předložení mu bude umožněn vstup do skal

Vydání průkazek bude možné po zaplacení příslušné částky na pokladně u Turistické chaty - dolní pokladna.

Horolezci jsou povinni dodržovat Pravidla lezení v pískovcových skalních oblastech oblastech v Čechách

Připomínáme stěžejní body:
platí zákaz lezení na vlhké nebo mokré skále
platí absolutní zákaz lezení s magnéziem nebo jinými chemickými prostředky
cesty se lezou zásadně zdola v maximálním počtu 5 lidí v jednom lanovém družstvu, lezení „ na rybu „ je výslovně zakázáno
k jištění , kromě kruhů, používat jen lanové smyčky
při lezení všemožně šetřit skálu

RULES FOR CLIMBING IN THE PRACHOV ROCKS NATURE PRESERVE – FOR 2017

The whole area is the private property of the Schlik family. Climbing is allowed only with their permission and while strictly adhering to the rules of the Code of Conduct, and to rules for climbing in sandstone rock areas in the Czech Republic a and by decision of AOPaK ČR SCHKO Turnov

Climbing is permitted from 1st April to 31st October outside areas prohibited by the decision of SCHKO from 18th October 2016

  • Climbing on damp or wet rock is banned.
  • There is a complete ban on climbing with magnesium or other chemicals (fined by up to 5000,- Czk)
  • Climb in a way that saves rocks from damage and keep the surroundings unlittered.
  • Be prepared to show a valid climbing permit to authorities.

    Producing a ČHS (UIAA) permit and purchasing entry fee specified by the owner. Only applicable on the permit holder, not on others accompanying them.

    Producing a climber’s card for entering the Prachov Rocks. This card can be obtained at the infocentre at the Tourist Cottage within requirement specified by the owner.

    Climbers can be checked by forest guards, environmental protection officers and authorised representatives of the owners of the nature preserve. In case of breakage of these rules, they can fined or escorted out of the area.
